Our proposal for a Monastery located at the Sao Domingo da Baralha Fortress raises the problem of the fundamental meaning that lies within the act of seclussion from the outside world. As such, the building finds itself, in a suspended state within time and space, between was and what is to be.Our presumption was that the old fotress will come to parish, and from it’s ashes a new building with an enclosed garden will arise.
